The Council of Osun State University has appointed Engineer Samson Aderemi Adepoju as the Director of Works and Maintenance. Engr. S.A. Adepoju, is a distinguished Mechanical Engineer and an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. An indigene of Ilesa East Local Government. He graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University with a Second Class Upper Division degree in Mechanical Engineering in July 1982.

The Committee of Deans of Engineering and Technology of Nigerian Universities has commended the Governor of the State of Osun and Visitor to Osun State University, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola for the construction of Osun State University Faculty of Engineering Building which is one of the biggest Faculties of Engineering in Nigeria. 

The Government of the State of Osun has reaffirmed its commitment to quality health care delivery for her citizenry. This was made known by the state commissioner for Health, Dr. (Mrs) Temitope Ilori at the 2014 SIDCAIN Diabetes summit with the theme: "Joint Action against Gestational Diabetes Mellitus", on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Main Auditorium of Osun State University, Main Campus, Osogbo.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of the Osun State University Prof Gabriel Adesiyan Olawoyin (SAN) has expressed the need for the university to make provision for university-based accommodation through private sector participation.
